The Executive Secretary, Bureau for Mines and Solid Minerals, Hon. Stephen Uta, marked his 2025 birthday with an exceptional act of compassion as he visited hospitals and clinics across Adikpo in Kwande Local Government Area, offering prayers, encouragement, and financial relief to ailing patients.
Rather than celebrating with festivities, Hon. Uta said the visit was his personal way of giving thanks to God for His mercy and favour upon his life. He explained that sharing his joy with the sick and vulnerable was more meaningful than any celebration he could have hosted.
During the visitations, he cleared all outstanding medical bills for over 100 admitted patients, ensuring that no one remained detained or burdened due to the cost of treatment. He also prayed earnestly for their quick recovery.
Medical professionals across the visited facilities expressed deep gratitude. Dr. Iornenge Akuutu, Medical Director of one of the hospitals, praised Hon. Uta’s generosity, noting that many of their patients had been financially overwhelmed by medical expenses. He described the intervention as a “great relief” to the affected families.
Patients and their relatives were filled with emotion as they thanked the Executive Secretary for his kindness. Many offered prayers on his behalf, while others waved and smiled as he moved from ward to ward.
A total of ten hospitals were visited, including:
General Hospital, Adikpo
Iornenge Health Clinic and Maternity
Shaladoo Hospital, Adikpo
Holy Child Clinic and Maternity, Adikpo
St. Monica Hospital, Adikpo
Rejoice Clinic and Maternity, among others
This humanitarian gesture comes shortly after Hon. Uta sponsored a large-scale free medical outreach through the Stephen Aondona Uta Foundation, where thousands of Kwande residents received treatment for various medical conditions.
Hon. Uta’s continued commitment to health support and community welfare has further strengthened his reputation as a leader who places people at the center of his service.
